News Date : 2007-11-13
News Summary : It is with sadness that we report that Shihan Tokujun Ishi passed away on Mon 12-Nov-2007 after a sudden illness.
Shihan Ishi (then a Sensei) came to Australia in the early 1990's and taught in Sydney, first at the Bondi Junction Honbu and then at his own Dojo in Parramatta. After the splittering of IKO, he became affiliated with IKO2 (now Shinkyokushinkai) and then later returned to Japan, where he was active there and in Europe. Shihan Ishi was an excellent practitioner of Kyokushin Karate with an enthusiastic teaching style that pushed students past their limits and beyond. He will be sadly missed.
