News Title : 2009 Australian Open Full-Contact Kumite Championship results

News Summary : A very exciting day as over 120 competitors from Australia and New Zealand fought for the top positions in each division. The new venue (Sydney University Sports Centre) proved worthy of the event as the audience was presented with the best view of the action. As with all Kyokushin knockdown tournaments, many highs and lows kept everyone on the edge of their seats until the final bell.
Congratulations to all competitors.

News Summary : A very big day with over 230 enthusiastic competitors from around Australia and New Zealand at the Sydney University Sports Centre on two match areas. The audience were rewarded with great displays of form, skill, precision and timing. The karateka's age was apparently no barrier as the youngest to the oldest competitors vied for the top positions in each category.

News Title : NSW branch Autumn 2008 grading results

News Summary : Another successful Autumn Camp was held at Heathcote on Sat/Sun 15/16 Mar 2008 with participants from near and far. On the Sunday afternoon 16 Mar 2007 the senior grade (4th kyu and above) grading was held. There were a total of forty-five students being graded including eight Shodan candidates and one Nidan candidate. It was a very hot afternoon (about 30°C) where candidates were tested over four gruelling hours for their karate knowledge, ability, fitness and stamina.

    when the mind gives up, the spirit takes over;
    this is Kyokushin."

News Title : Kancho Matsushima to tour eastern Australia in March

News Summary : Kancho Matsushima is the President, Chief Instructor and Technical Adviser of the IKO (International Karate Organization Kyokushin Kaikan). He will tour eastern Australia for a series of seminars and social events. All AKKA members of all grades are encouraged to participate in this opportunity to improve their karate.
